Give information about Leaning Tower of Pisa ?
marta [7]

Answer:

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a building in Pisa, Italy. It is a bell tower. It is famous because it is not vertical. The tower was once leaning more and more to the ground, but recently much restoration work has been done to stop it from falling over completely. There was scaffolding all around the tower for 20 years. On 26 April 2011, the last bit of scaffolding was removed so that the tower can be seen properly again.

The height of the tower is about 56 metres from the ground. Its weight is about 14,500 tonnes. It now leans at about 3.99 degrees. The tower has 294 steps.

When the second floor was built in 1178, the tower started to lean. This was because it had a small three-meter foundation in soft soil. The design of this tower was bad from the beginning. Construction was stopped for almost 100 years because the people of Pisa were often at war with Genoa, Lucca, and Florence.

Like the Roman Colosseum, the Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of the seven wonders of the medieval world that is located in Italy.

The purpose of the National Origins Acts, influenced by the Red Scare, was to Question 8 options: increase the number of Soviets
ahrayia [7]

The right answer is  limit the number of immigrants who could enter the US from each country.

During the 1920s the concerns about foreign radicals invading the US created new efforts to restrict immigration. The first result was the Immigration Act of 1921 which restricted European arrivals each year to 3 percent of the total number of each nationality represented in the 1910 census. Still, with the need of strengthening the law, The Immigration Act of 1924 reduced the number to 2 percent based on the 1890 census, which included fewer of the “new” immigrants from southern and eastern Europe. This law set a permanent limitation, which became effective in 1929, of slightly over 150,000 new arrivals per year based on the “national origins” of the U.S. population as of 1920. The intention was clear to tilt the balance in favor of immigrants from northern and western Europe, who were assigned about 85 percent of the total. The law completely excluded people from East Asia.
