Interestingly, in Sophocles play Oedipus Rex, he skillfully portrays his views about human limitations. For example, his play character Oedipus, couldn't outrun the prophecy that says he <em>would end up killing his father and marrying his mother</em>, which brought disaster to his city and family.

Looking deep into the play we could observe that the play emphasizes on the popular belief in destiny, <em>implying that no matter one's status prophecy (destiny) will not change.</em>
