What issue faced the framers of the u.s. Constitution when they wrote all men are created equal

They meant all men are equal under the authority of God; that everybody is held accountable for God's laws. They wrote this because at the time everyone had strayed from God's laws. It was basically put in the U.S Constitution because they are trying to express that everyone is seen as equal in God's eyes, no one is better or worse.
