I believe the correct answer is the first option - “Who has not, a hundred times, found himself committing a vile or a silly action, for no other reason than because he knows he should not?”
It seems to me that through this sentence the author is trying to justify whatever bad thing happened. He wants us to understand that anybody can make such a mistake so that we shouldn't judge so fast.

What ideas are typically associated with the word
irga5000 [103]

Answer:

Comfort and warmth.

That the father feels very comfortable digging.

Explanation:

Digging is a poem written by Seamus Heaney, describing the life of the speaker through the act of potato digging which was the primary means of livelihood in Ireland. The poem compares the lives of the speaker, his father, and his grandfather.

The word "nestled" is used in the first line of the fourth stanza- "The coarse boot nestled on the lug". The word in itself is typically associated with warmth and comfort, safety, and peace. And the speaker's use of this word to describe how his father's boots were "nestled on the lug" seems to suggest that his father felt comfortable and safe in the work he is doing, that of digging potatoes.
