Macy glanced across the classroom. Her deep sea blue eyes studied the flakes of green in the hazel pearls her crush called eyes. After a while, she realized that he had noticed her staring. Her face turned a remarkable shade of red, and she quickly glanced away. He was her first crush, and she had a big one. All of her friends had been pretty discreet about her crush, seeing as every girl in the seventh grade had a crush on him. He was, after all, Darren Brown. His dark, coffee colored hair was cut nicely, as if he had just gotten it done yesterday. He was athletic, and funny. She wished that Darren would notice her, but what would Darren do with her? Her face was covered in pimples, not to mention that she is shorter than everyone in her grade... How was she going to win him over? And, could she? The dismissal bell rang in her ears, reviving her from her trance. As a horde of students pushed and shoved to get out the door of the classroom, she stayed in her seat. Her teacher, Mrs. Lindewowsky approached her, concerned. "Are you okay, Macy?" She asked. "Usually you are out the door as soon as you can."
Macy watched the last few students leave the classroom and decided to stand. "Oh, yeah, I'm just taking it easy today. I'm just a little tired." And with that, she left the room. Walking home felt slower that day, and all Macy could think about was Darren.
Once she arrived at her house, she sighed, and entered. "MOM, I'M HOME!" She hollered across the room. A woman who appeared to be in her late thirties entered the living room.
"Hi darling! How was school? Did you meet a booooy?" Her last remark caught Macy off guard, causing her to stare blankly at her mother. This woman could not be fooled. "Oh my goodness! You did meet a boy! What is his name? How did you meet? Is he your boyfriend?"
Regrettingly, Macy plopped down on the couch, and told her mom everything. How they met, how cute he is, and how much she wants to build up the courage to talk to him. "Well, it sounds like you have a keeper on your hands. And don't worry about telling him how you feel. Mama will take care of that." Macy's eyes bulged. she jumped off the couch, and stared down at her mother intensely.
"Mom, you need to understand something. You can't tell anyone what I have told you. Especially not Mrs. Brown." Macy and Darren were best friends in first grade, and their mothers had kept in touch.
Her mother sighed and responded calmly, "Why of course, honey!" Then left the room. Macy was way too exhausted for dinner, so she jumped into bed. She fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. The next morning, she woke up to her little sister, Lilly, giggling.
"Hey sis!" She giggled. "Mommy says you have a boyfriend!" She skipped around her room, before looking back at Macy in the doorway, and giggling.
After getting ready for school, Macy slugged down the stairs to the kitchen. "MOM!" Macy yelled. "Did you tell anyone about what we discussed last night?"
Her mother was nowhere to be found. Macy poured herself a bowl of cheerios, and dreaded what may come. Her day was already at a bad start, once she almost missed her bus, when she realized that her friends were whispering about her. Oh, she thought, this is going to be a horrible day.
When the bus arrived at her school, Macy felt awful. Surely her mother had told people about her crush, and now, everything has fallen to pieces! Her heart was pounding when she reached her homeroom. She took a large breath, and stepped through the doorway, to her doom. All she could imagine was Darren's judgmental stare when he found out that she had a crush on him. As she reached her seat, she looked across the room. There he was, Darren. Oh how she wanted to go home right now. Ugh.
Only her mother could have embarressed her like that.

Why doesn't scout get along with calpurnia?
Doss [256]
Scout is a bit wild and rambunctious. Calpurnia likes to keep order and is strict. She will punish Scout (like having her copy the Bible) when necessary.

But the main reason is that Calpurnia is not her mom. Her mom dies when she is young, and Calpurnia has to raise Scout.

Explain the difference between action Adnan action verb
Tpy6a [65]
Action words, or action verbs, simply express an action. The action is something you are doing and includes sleeping, thinking, sitting, and napping, even though you are not active. Non action words, or non action verbs, do not refer to an action, but represent a state of being, need, opinion, sense, or preference. Examples are the “be” verbs, like: am, are, was, were, is, has been, and had.

According to the speaker, how should a person face death? Explain answer in detail.
Murrr4er [49]

Answer:

Claude McKay wrote a poem known as "If We Must Die". In this poem, the speaker puts emphasis on the ideology that nobody should stand still when their time is close. They should not go down without a tough fight. Giving in is the most cowardly act and one should be courageous enough to show death what you are made of.

Fight back even if you know that it is a losing battle. At least when you embrace death, you would know that you did all that was in your power and there was nothing else that could have been done.
