The best answer is "the backcountry."

The first answer is wrong because the English were not nearly as involved in trapping as the French were. English colonists in the backcountry were mostly interested in creating permanent farming or religious communities, whereas almost the entire economy of New France (the French colony in North America) was based on fur trapping.

The third is wrong because, while a lot if Indians did want to throw the French and English out, this was not the main reason for the war, as many other Indian nations were allied with either France or England.

The last two answers both matter, since Indian alliances with the colonies were very important to how the war played out. But they were not causes of the war, so these answers are also wrong.

The French and Indian War was all about whether France or Britain would gain control of the backcountry (the Ohio river valley).
