PLEASE HELP QUICK Wow! You now know so much about Mexico! Your friend Jordan, however, knows nothing about it. In a few months,
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

Although Mexico and the United States share a border of nearly 2,000 miles on the same continent, there are many differences between the two cultures that define and celebrate the heritage of each country. In the U.S. we experience many of the Mexican cultures, especially towards the South along the boarders.

In the United States, there is no federally recognized language, but over half of the 50 states have recognized American English as their official language. While English is the most spoken language around the world, there are nearly 150 living languages spoken around the United States to this day. However Mexico doesn't have a defined language either. Mexico is believed to be the most populated speaking spanish, and has more speaking spanish people than Main happens to have. The Government in Mexico believes that there is 62 indigenous languages that are spoken within the country's boarders.

In the United States there is no such thing as "traditional" food. As to Mexican food is known world wide because, of it's distinctive flavors and colors. Mexicans take a lot of pride in their food, containing delicious spices, and herbs.

Americans place most of their time on themselves and their profession so much, that in most times their work comes before their family. So the children intend to grow up independent, and seperate from their family in most cases. In Mexican culture, they tend to put their children before anything else. The children are usually taught to put family first and brought up with a lot of care and attention. It's not usually common for Mexican families to live in one location for generations

Es aconsejable que los niños le __________ a sus padres.
A. escuchen B. escuchan
Kryger [21]

For this case we have the following expression:

It is advisable for children to __________ their parents.

We must choose the correct verb to fill in the blank.

We note that the verb is for the third person of the plural:

They = Children

Therefore, the correct word is:

Escuchen = listen

The complete sentence in English is:

It is advisable for children to listen to their parents.

The correct translation in Spanish is:

Es aconsejable que los niños le escuchen a sus padres.

Answer:

1. Rafael resolvió los problemas. Los problemas . 2. Julia se preparó para el examen. Julia . 3. Le vendimos esa aspiradora a un
attashe74 [19]

Answer:

1. Los problemas fueron resueltos por Rafael

2. We can't change the sentence to passive voice

3. Esa aspiradora fue vendida a un cliente por nosotros

4. Nadar en ese río ha sido prohibido

5. La reservación fue confirmada por la gente de viajes

6. La película resultó aburrida para Carlos y Luis.

Explanation:

Before answering our exercises, we have to remember some grammatical concepts that will be allowing us to understand better the Spanish language.

WHAT IS GRAMMATICAL VOICE? It could be defined as the part of a conjugated verb that shows the semantic relation between:

 • The subject
 • The object
 • The verb

At this respect in Spanish we can identify two voice types:

1. ACTIVE VOICE: The subject of the sentence is the agent of the specific action (verb) that affects an object.

Example: María rompió su bicicleta (María broke her bike)

We can see that María (subject) is who broke (verb) the bicycle (object)

2. PASSIVE VOICE: The subject of the sentence is the patient of the specific action (verb) that is made by an agent.

Example: La bicicleta (object) was broke (verb) by María (agent).

NOTICE how the conjugation of the verb changes according to the type of voice and what we want to express with the sentence. Now we can proceed to answer our exercises; they are presented in ACTIVE VOICE, so we will be changing their form to PASSIVE VOICE.

1. ACTIVE VOICE: Rafael resolvió los problemas

PASSIVE VOICE: Los problemas fueron resueltos por Rafael

2. ACTIVE VOICE: Julia se preparó para el examen

*HERE WE CAN’T CHANGE THE SENTENCE TO “El examen fue preparado por Julia” because by doing that we would change the meaning of the sentence. The nearest form to express the same meaning will be: El examen fue estudiado por Julia; with this we codify that Julia studied to pass the test*

3. ACTIVE VOICE: Le vendimos esa aspiradora a un cliente

PASISVE VOICE: Esa aspiradora fue vendida a un cliente por nosotros

4. ACTIVE VOICE: Se prohíbe nadar en ese río

PASSIVE VOICE: Nadar en ese río ha sido prohibido (here we have an impersonal sentence, so we won’t be specifying the agent)

5. ACTIVE VOICE: La gente de viajes confirmó la reservación

PASSIVE VOICE: La reservación fue confirmada por la gente de viajes

6. ACTIVE VOICE: Carlos y Luis se aburrieron durante la película

PASSIVE VOICE: La película resultó aburrida para Carlos y Luis.
