Manifest Destiny summary: In the 19th century US, Manifest Destiny was a belief that was widely held that the destiny of American settlers was to expand and move across the continent to spread their traditions and their institutions, while at the same time enlightening more primitive nations. And the American settlers of the time considered Indians and Hispanics to be inferior and therefore deserving of cultivation. The settlers considered the United States to be the best possible way to organize a country so they felt the need to remake the world in the image of their own country.

Explanation:

The Axis was formed by countries which leaders were dictators. The goal of Germany, Japan and Italy was to empower their country at the expense of weakening other countries. Prior to WWII, these three powers had been focusing their energy in reinforcing and improving their armies.

In 1930's Germany, Hitler rose to power with his Nazi Party, becoming known as "der Führer". He wanted to avenge Germany's loss of WWI and territory thanks to the Treaty of Versailles. In Italy, Benito Mussolini and Fascism rose to power as well, promising reorganization of the country and economic solutions for it. On the other hand, Japan started invading Manchuria in 1930 in search for raw materials. Soon the three powers known as The Axis would start their tactical moves.
