R. >= 1 then the above geometric series diverges. If the above series converges, then the remainder RN = S - SN (where S is the exact sum of the infinite series and SN is the sum of the first N terms of the series) is bounded by 0< = RN <= (N.. ) f(x) dx.

Lisa has 3 quarts of milk. Sanjay has 12 pints of milk. Who has more?
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Sanjay, because quarts are twice as big as pints.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Milk quantity for Lisa = 3 quarts

Milk quantity for Sanjay = 12 pints

We have to convert both quantities in same unit so that we can compare both quantities.

We know that there are two pints in a quart.

So,

Lisa will have:

3*2 = 6 pints of milk

Hence,

Sanjay, because quarts are twice as big as pints.

Two cars start together in the same direction from the same place. The first goes with a uniform speed of 10 km/h. The second go
Inga [223]

Let the second car meets the first car after n hours.

Second car starts with 8km/h, After succeeding hours his speed increases by 0.5 km.

So, Distance travelled by second car = 8 + 8.5 + 9

..... 8+(n-1) 0.5.....(1)

eqn. (1) sum of n terms Of A.P with first term 8

and common difference 0.5.

Sum of all the terms in equation 1 is also equals to the distance travelled by the first car for n hours, i.e. 10n km .

Now, we have (n/2) {16+(n-1) 0.5} = 10n........(2)

From equation (2) we get, n= 9

Hence, Both the cars will meet after 9 hours.

Hope it helps!

M is the midpoint of PQ. The diameter of a circle O is 13 in. And RM = 4 in.
garri49 [273]

Answer:

Part a) PM=6\ in

Part b) PQ=12\ in

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

we know that

The diameter of the circle divide the circle into two equal parts

so

PM=MQ

Applying the Intersecting Chord Theorem (When two chords intersect each other inside a circle, the products of their segments are equal)

SM*RM=PM*MQ

SM*RM=PM^{2}

we have

SM=13-4=9\ in

RM=4\ in

substitute

9*4=PM^{2}

PM^{2}=36

PM=6\ in

step 2

Find the value of PQ

we know that

PM=MQ

so

PQ=PM+MQ

PQ=2PM

we have

PM=6\ in

substitute

PQ=2(6)=12\ in
