The containment policy was designed by the government of the United States at the end of the 1940s during the Cold War years. Its main goal was to put a stop to the spread of Communism. The Soviet Union was decided to spread Communism in different parts of the world. It already controlled or heavily influenced Bulgaria, Polonia, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Rumania, China, and North Korea. With that scenario, The US government was worried that Communist also spread in Vietnam. But after many negative incidents and the loss of American lives in the war front, many US citizens started to questioning the containment policy and the decision to sent US troops to Vietnam. People began to think that the US had nothing to do in Vietnam.
