All living organisms on Earth shares the SAME 7 characteristics.
These characteristics includes: movement, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion, and nutrition.
Some living organisms may not obviously show some certain characteristics, but they all do share these 7 characteristics. For example, you may not thought about plant movements, but in reality, they do, even though its not obvious. Homeostasis in plants is one of the reason why the plants really move, they move towards the sun or the water etc.
Objects do not show all the 7 characteristics, even though they may show some. For example, a robot dog shows movement, or sensitivity, where it detects and reacts to changes in the environment, but it'll never show characteristics like respiration or reproduction, as it is not a living organism.
Therefore, living organisms are similar as we all share ALL the 7 characteristics of living organisms.
