When Jem gives Miss Maudie his sympathies for the loss of her house, she says, "Always wanted a smaller house, Jem Finch. Gives me more yard. Just think, I’ll have more room for my azaleas now!"<span>
She tells Jem and Scout that she'll be able to have a bigger yard which means more room for the plants she loves to tend. She also calls her old house a cow barn and says that she had thought of burning it does herself.

Miss Maudie's reaction to her house being burnt down furthers her likable character. Her character is one of the mother figures for Scout and Jem since their mother is gone. Throughout the book, she is able to look on the bright side of things and is more accepting of others than most of Maycomb.

“At about half past nine Napoleon, wearing an old bowler hat of Mr. Jones', was
Nina [5.8K]

Answer:

D No animal shall sleep in a bed

Explanation:

It was a couple of days after the fact than this that the pigs happened upon an instance of whisky in the basements of the farmhouse. It had been disregarded when the house was first involved. That evening there came from the farmhouse the sound of noisy singing, wherein, amazingly, the strains of Monsters of Britain were stirred up

Be that as it may, toward the beginning of the day a profound quiet loomed over the farmhouse. Not a pig had all the earmarks of being blending. It was almost nine o'clock when Bigmouth showed up, strolling gradually and dejectedly, his eyes dull, his tail hanging flaccidly behind him, and with each appearance of being genuinely sick. He assembled the creatures and disclosed to them that he had a horrible bit of information to confer. Comrade Napoleon was passing on!

Which of the following uses dashes correctly?
lesya692 [45]

<u>Answer</u>:

Out of the following sentences, the one that uses dashes correctly is - "The New Zealand Papua New Guinea handball team's stars Fredrickson, lacho, Honey, and Ipatas, have all demonstrated - hey, what's that duck doing here? Here, the right answer is Option B.

<u>Explanation</u>:

There is a surprise element at the end of the sentence which is marked by an exclamation ‘hey’ and a question. So, the dash is placed after the verb ‘demonstrated’ to highlight this surprise element of the sentence.

Also, the dash is used to emphasise on the conclusion or introduction of the sentence. Over here it gives importance to the conclusion of the sentence. Plus, it helps in breaking up the dialogue here.
