Robert E. Lee (1807-1870) was a graduate from West Point Academy. He was a great soldier that graduated number two in his class. He fouth in many battles in the Mexican territory, such as Veracruz and Chapultepec.

On April 20, 1851, he resigned his commission and later was appointed by Virginia's governor Letcher to lead the military in the state of Virginia, and was the most important leader of the Confederate Army during the Civil War. On April 9, 1865, he finally surrendered to General Ulysses S. Grant in Virginia. At the end of the war, he became the President of Washington College in Lexington, Virginia. His application of citizenship was misled at that time and was founded in 1975.
