You're given the slope of the line and a point thru which the line passes.  So it makes sense to use the point-slope form of the equation of a straight line:  if the point is (a,b) and the slope is m, then

y-b=m(x-a).  You'd then solve this for y to obtain the equation in slope-intercept form.

On the other hand, if you're asked to write the equation in slope-intercept form, starting with the general form of this equation may be faster:  y=mx+b.

Substitute the given values for x and y (which are 25 and -9) and m (which is (2/5).  Solve the resulting equation for b (the y-intercept).

Then write the finished equation:  y=( ? )x + b, where b is the y-intercept you've just found.

stand=3

shoes=2

places=4

bad=5

places=4

sad=5

Notice how when it rhymes, you connect the number to what it rhymes with. You continue the numbers or letters until a rhyme then look at what it rhymes with and match it.

Woman salary is $2,800 in 1988 and was 15% more in 1989. If she paid a tax of 12.5% of her salary, how much tax did she pay in 1
iris [78.8K]

So first step is to find out how much the woman's salary is in 1989. We can do this by multiplying 0.15 (15% in decimal form) and $2,800 together, then adding that product by $2,800.

2800*0.15= \$ 420\\ 2800+420= \$ 3220

The woman makes $3,220 in 1989.

To find how much tax she pays in 1989, just multiply 0.125 (12.5% in decimal form) and 3220 together:

3220*0.125= \$ 402.50

In short, the woman paid $402.50 in tax in 1989.

Use a scientific calculator to find the antilogarithm of each logarithm rounded to four decimal places.
attashe74 [19]
Assuming you're working in base 10, then the antilog of 3.493 is equal to 10^3.493 = 3,111.71633710601

This rounds to 3111.7163 so the answer is choice D
