Cantatas and operas are both kinds of vocal musicology with instrumental complement which include drama.
An opera is thought to be worked out, as a performance in which all of the conversations are composed rather than lectured. A cantata, on another side, is also a drama but is also like a story fixed to tune and sung. Operas commonly take their fantasy from mythicism, whereas a cantata can usually be a sacred part, similar to an oratorio but smaller in length. Cantatas can, though, be obtained from a lyric play as fine.
Most cantatas are related to religious things so they are serious and don't have a lot of huge stages with costumes and hairs and the topics and themes sung about are mostly serious while operas can often have even obscene lyrics or anything similar that wouldn't be good for church.</span>
