4x+8=7.2+5x

Subtract 4x from both sides:
8=7.2+x

Subtract 7.2 from both sides:
0.8=x

x=0.8

4x+8=7.2+5x
subtract 7.2 from 8 and you get .8
subtract 5x-4x and you get 1x
therefore your answer is...
.8=x

Answer:

See below

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Taking the readings from the graph</u>

  • <u>x ....  y</u>
  • 0 .... 2
  • 2 .... 6
  • 4 .... 10
  • 6 .... 14

<u>Rate of change for the given line is:</u>

  • (6 - 2)/2 = 4/2 = 2
  • y- intercept is 2

<u>Equation for the line is:</u>

  • y = 2x + 2

<u>For the point (40, 76) we can verify with the equation:</u>

  • 40*2 + 2 = 82

The point (40, 76) is close the line but the line doesn't pass through it.

Solve for x: 4 over x equals 5 over 10 8 9 20 40
Sati [7]

\frac{4}{x} =\frac{5}{10}   [4 over x equals 5 over 10]

Solve for x, so you need to isolate/get x by itself in the equation.

\frac{4}{x} =\frac{5}{10}       Multiply x on both sides

(x)\frac{4}{x}=\frac{5}{10} (x)

4=\frac{5}{10} x       Multiply the inverse of 5/10, which is 10/5, to get rid of the fraction and get x by itself

(\frac{10}{5} )4=(\frac{10}{5} )\frac{5}{10} x

\frac{40}{5} =x

8 = x

What's the error and can you explain why
Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

First part.

Explanation:

The first part is wrong. Because when you divide a number by a fraction, you will have convert it to multiply upside-down fraction but not the number that is divided :

\frac{ {x}^{2} - 4 }{5x}   \div  \frac{x + 2}{x - 2}

=   \frac{(x + 2)(x - 2)}{5x}   \times  \frac{x - 2}{x + 2}

=  \frac{ {(x - 2)}^{2} }{5x}

e.g

(1/2)÷5 = (1/2)×(1/5)

= 1/10

e.g

2÷1/4 = 2×4

= 8

(I hope you understand)
