x = -2

-(-2)² + 3

-4 + 3

f(-2) = -1

x = 4

-(4)² + 3

-16 + 3

-13

f(4) = -13

i dont understand equations of parallel and perpendicular lines here's one of my teachers examples y=2x+4 (-2,1)
SIZIF [17.4K]
Parallel lines will never touch each other while perpendicular forms like an X shape. The slope for the parallel is the same while the perpendicular is a negative reciprocal. (Ex for negative reciprocal. 2/4=4/2)

Sedbober [7]

Functions can be used to model real world situations.

<em>(60,10) is a possible solution because the input and output are feasible.</em>

From the question, we understand that:

x = 60 --- i.e 60 people donated

f(x) = 10 ---- i.e. 10 families received the clothes from the 60 people

This means that 10 families received at least 60 clothes from the 60 people that donated.

The above illustration can happen.

<em>Hence, (60,10) is a possible solution.</em>

What is the area of the composite figure? 262 cm2 264 cm2 266 cm2 268 cm2
miv72 [106K]

The Area is a two-dimensional scalar quantity. The area of the composite figure is 264 cm².

<h3>What is the area?</h3>

The area of a two-dimensional region, form, or planar lamina in the plane is the quantity that represents its extent. On the two-dimensional surface of a three-dimensional object, the surface area is its counterpart.

The composite figure can be broken down into four parts a square(A), a triangle(B) and two rectangles(C and D).

Now, if the area of the composite figure is taken out it will be,

\text{Area of composite}=\text{Area of Square A} + \text{Area of triangle B} + \text{Area of Rectangle C} + \text{Area of Rectangle D}\\

\text{Area of Composte}=(10^2)+(\dfrac12 \times 6 \times 4)+(8 \times 4)+(20 \times 6)\\\\\text{Area of Composte}= 100+ 12 + 32 + 120 =264\rm\ cm^2

Thus, the area of the composite figure is 264 cm².
