"People believe they are liberated because they can bring the mobile phone anywhere” - the use of quotation marks around lines 8
topjm [15]

Answer:

C. Irony

Explanation:

According to the given sentence, the author talks about people thinking they are liberated because they can take their phone anywhere.

This statement brings a sense of irony because the speaker clearly believes that people are not liberated because they are in fact imprisoned by their attachment/addiction to their mobile phone.

Irony is defined as a situation where events are contrary to what one expects and can be amusing.

What made gatsby great? support your answer here with textual evidence
Oduvanchick [21]
It’s the illusion of Gatsby that is great; what his life is like to a stranger looking from afar. He seems to have it all, giant house, handsome, big parties, etc. and he wants people to believe he is as great as his things. But given the end, we know he isn’t really great and he might have “it all” but without Daisy he has nothing (nothing that matters at least) and he realizes he’s isn’t great.
