In 1848, how did society discourage a woman from taking a wage-earning job?

They were discouraged because the law at that time stated that their earning basically belonged to their spouse, and also they couldn't own property, so they couldn't use their money in any way other than giving it to their husband. With this kind of a law, nobody would work.

What role did yellow journalism
inessss [21]

Answer:

D. Without proof journalists blamed Spain for the sinking ship .

Explanation:

The sinking of the Maine gave a pretext to the US government to declare the war on Spain. Yellow press papers incensed the public with their stories about Spanish abuses in Cuba. They magnified the issue of the Maine and pointed at a Spanish action as the cause of the explosion onboard, though it was not the Spanish authorities who did it.

What the answer to this question by explain it
uysha [10]

Answer:

First off the railroads allowed people to be transported from one city to another in half the time from them walking. This allowed families to see each other and friends to visit. However one problem was how African Americans were treated they were sat in different train cars because of their skin color making a huge drift between whites and African Americans. Nature was affected because trees had to be removed to build the railroads and many forests suffered because of this. Not to mention the smoke from the trains which would pollute the air. Hope this helps.
