Young men's love then lies Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes. Jesu Maria! what a deal of brine Hath wash'd thy sallow cheeks for Rosaline; How much salt water thrown away in waste, 75 To season love, that of it doth not taste! C. By discouraging a hasty course of action

Romeo has come to tell Friar Laurence how he has fallen in love with Juliet and wishes to marry her immediately. Friar Laurence is hesitant and skeptical because he knows the morning before Romeo was pining for Rosaline. Friar Laurence's attempts to call Romeo out on his behavior and sudden change of heart is typical of the mentor archetype.
