The answer is: A. Southern states opposed it

The united states constitution was ended before we abolish slavery. At that time ,the majority of slaves were owned in southern states. Because of this, many southerners loudly reject the notion that all men were born free and equal rights since they believe the slaves that they owned were inferiors and cannot be considered as a normal human being.
