A) La iguana es fea. La serpiente es muy fea. La serpiente es más fea que la iguana. - The iguana is ugly. The snake is very ugly. The snake is uglier than the iguana.
B) Anita es alta. (5'10") Susana es alta también. (5'10") Anita es tan alta como Susana. - Anita is tall. Susana is also tall. Anita is as tall as Susana.
C) Julio es alto. Pablo es muy alto. Pablo es más alto que Julio. - Julio is tall. Pablo is very tall. Pablo is taller than Julio.
D) La iguana es fea. La serpiente es muy fea. La iguana es menos fea que la serpiente. - The iguana is less ugly than the snake.
E) Juan es alto. María es muy alta. María es más alta que Juan. - Maria is taller than Juan.
F) Juan es alto. María es muy alta. Juan es menos alto que María. - Juan is less tall (=shorter) than Maria.

You create comparative by adding mas + adjective + que if you want to show a higher quality (mas alto que - more high than = higher than). You use menos + adjective + que is you want to show a lesser quality (menos alto que - less tall than). If the qualities are the same, you use tan + adjective + como (tan alto como = as tall as).
