The Confederate Army General who died on an accidental death was Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. He died of pneumonia a week after his troops accidentally fired on him during the Battle of Chancellorsville. He was known as one of the boldest and most colorful general. He was the perfect compliment to General Robert E. Lee and became the most trusted Corps Commander of General Lee.
