because on the upon reading the excerpt i somehow see that the character seemed so polite and proper.
If the car has a manual gearbox, it would make recesses to try to slow down as much as possible and avoid the crash. On the other hand, if the car has an automatic box, brake as much as possible but just before hitting the truck with the brake to avoid sinking under the vehicle; tried so the impact is less aggressive. A third option would be to brake and before impacting the vehicle activate the handbrake so that my car will spin as a spin and try to avoid the impact.
