After Louis XIVs death in 1715, Europe enjoyed the fruits of a more balanced diplomatic systemin which warfare become less frequent and less widespread. States then spent their resourcesestablishing and expanding control over their own populations. Diplomacy helped preservebalance and meet the new demands placed on it.
I believe the events are nuclear war and nuclear peace. The use of nuclear within warfares indeed would definitely resulted in more serious damage for both nations involved. But, on the bright side, the existence of nuclear weapon make nations MUCH LESS likely to involve in the warfares because they know none of them would won the war without having receive large amount of damages
