The dialogue between the characters reveal that she is disappointed that Jing-mei has low expectations.

To add, “Two Kinds” outlines the main character Jing-mei Woo’s childhood and the effects of her mother’s high expectations for her life. It is clear that some of the events in the short story reflect events that happened in the author’s life.

Based on its context in the description of the pilgrims, what does the narrator mean by hostelry?
Artist 52 [7]

Your question is incomplete because you have not provided the excerpt or the options. The complete question is as follows:

Read the excerpt below and answer the question.

There came at nightfall to that hostelry

Some nine and twenty in a company

Of sundry persons who had chanced to fall

In fellowship, and pilgrims were they all

That toward Canterbury town would ride. (The Canterbury Tales; "General Prologue," lines 23-27)

Based on its context in the description of the pilgrims, what does the narrator mean by hostelry?

group

inn

fountain

stable

Answer:

inn

Explanation:

In "The Canterbury Tales," the author Geoffrey Chaucer makes use of the word hostelry to indicate that a diverse group of pilgrims arrives at an establishment which provides food, drink and accommodation, particularly for travelers. Thus, in the evening the pigrims stop at an inn in Southwark before they continue their journey to Canterbury.

Use the chart to compare the themes and tools used to develop themes in ""He Had His Dream"" and in the excerpt from Little Wome
motikmotik

Hello. This question is incomplete. The full question is:

Use the chart to compare the themes and tools used to develop themes in ""He Had His Dream"" and in the excerpt from Little Women. Answer each question completely and record related textual details.

What is the theme?

What details in the text develop the theme?

How do plot events shape the theme?

How do characters shape the theme?

How are the themes similar and different?

How is the theme development similar and different?

Answer and Explanation:

1. The theme is that we must follow our dreams no matter what.

2. The text shows that while we are trying to achieve our dream, there will be "toil and strife" and strong storms trying to stop us.

3. The characters have their own dreams and difficulties very different from each other. They manage to overcome these difficulties, being resilient and persevering.

4. Both texts show the importance of pursuing objectives, but the poem shows that this search is lonely, while the book shows that the search must be shared with the family that will help progress.

5. In the poem the development of the theme is done through a monologue of the prayer, which animates itself by being perseverance. In the book, the theme develops through various situations that often seem unsolved, but that can be overcome with unity and love.

Authors rarely state the central idea in narrative nonfiction. How can a reader find the central idea when the author doesn’t st
mestny [16]

To determine the central idea of a nonfiction narrative, you look at the details in the text: what characters say and do, the events that occur, important challenges or conflicts represented, and the setting. Then you think about how these details work together to build and convey a big idea or message
