Answer:

The mammary gland is one of the main characteristics of all mammals. When it comes to female mammals its main characteristic is to produce milk, while in males, the mammary gland is nonfunctional.

Explanation:

The mammary gland of a woman consists of a glandular tissue, divided in different quantities of fat, which gives an authentical shape to the gland. This tissue is made of 15 – 20 lobes composed of ductal cells.

Each lobe has many smaller lobules separated by Cooper's ligaments. These lobules connect the skin with the fascia of connective tissue that covers the muscles beneath the breast. The lobes have a separate excretory duct under the nipple, where they widen into milk supplies and then narrows again towards an opening at the summit of the nipple.

Each mammary gland is boarded with a circular disk from the outside, which is called the areola. Areolas cause the nipples to be firm upon each stimulation and provide lubrication for the nipple during nursing.

Remember from the buffering capacity note, tell me which of the following acids(and their salts) can make the best buffered solu
lakkis [162]

Answer:

The answer is Benzoic acid. Hence, (C) is the correct answer. The acid with the ratio [HA] / [A-] closest to 1 is the best because a buffer is most effective when the amounts of acid and conjugate base are approximately equal and hence their ratio should be close to 1.

Explanation:

pH = - log₁₀[H⁺]

[H⁺] = 10∧-pH

Given,

pH = 4.30

Chloroacetic acid (Ka = 1.35 x 10^-3)

Propanoic acid (Ka = 1.30 x 10^-5)

Benzoic acid (Ka = 6.40 x 10^-5)

Hypochlorous acid (Ka = 3.50 x 10^-8)

Using the Hints,

The required [H+] = 10⁻⁴°³ => 5.011 x 10⁻⁵

Using the formula,

Ka = [H+] [A-] / [HA] and finding [HA] / [A-] values for each of the given acids.

[HA] / [A-] = [H+] /Ka

Substituting the values,

For Chloroacetic acid, [HA] / [A-] = 5.011 x 10⁻⁵ / 1.35 x 10⁻³ => 0.037

For Propanoic acid, [HA] / [A-] = 5.011 x 10⁻⁵ / 1.30 x 10⁻⁵ => 3.85

For Benzoic acid, [HA] / [A-] = 5.011 x 10⁻⁵ / 6.40 x 10⁻⁵ => 0.782

For Hypochlorous acid, [HA] / [A-] = 5.011 x 10⁻⁵ / 3.50 x 10⁻⁸ => 1431.714

As Benzoic acid has [HA] / [A-] value closest to 1, it can make the best buffered solution.

The acid with the

ratio [HA] / [A-] closest to 1 is the best because,

A buffer is most effective when the amounts of acid and conjugate base are approximately equal and hence their ratio should be close to 1.

One face of a cube-shaped package has an area of 5 square inches. What is the lateral
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

LSA of a cube = 100 in²

Explanation:

Let the area of the cube be a.

Given the following data;

a = 5 in²

To find the lateral surface area;

We know that a cube has four faces and as such the lateral surface area would be the area of the four faces.

Lateral surface area (LSA) of a cube = 4a²

Substituting into the equation, we have;

LSA of a cube = 4*5²

LSA of a cube = 4*25

LSA of a cube = 100 in²

Therefore, the lateral surface area of the package is 100 square inches.

What is conservatism? (What, who, when, why)
VMariaS [17]

What:

Conservatism, super simply put, is a political ideology that aims to restore or "conserve" past traditions, values, and systems. This can vary in different countries to their aspects that the citizens hope to conserve.

Who:

Some key individuals who have ideas that conservatives in the United States generally agree with include:

 • John Locke (very important)
 • Edmund Burke
 • Pretty much all the founding fathers

When:

Like I said, conservatives hope to keep relatively the same. In the U.S., how the United States was set up (i.e. late 1700s) is a key era. Most political philosophers conservatives agree with were present and were key members of the French Revolution (1790s).

Why:

The basic phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" sums it up about right!

Please, please, please let me know if you have any more questions!
