Hello!
According to the internet, assult and battery is "the crime of threatening a person together with the act of making physical contact with them."
Another website tells us that assult is an act of physical violence against someone, while battery is the actual act of causing harm. I dont know if my paraphrasing made much sense, so heres the actual thing:
In an act of physical violence by one person against another, "assault" is usually paired with battery. In an act of physical violence, assault refers to the act which causes the victim to apprehend imminent physical harm, while battery refers to the actual act causing the physical harm.
Hope I helped!
When it comes to life and nature, Jack London and Robert Frost have different perspectives various things that they agree upon but others that they do not.
This is a taunt. Here MacDuff is telling MacBeth to yield and show himself to be a coward as well as a monster. People will come to see you, and you will be painted on a pole and underneath will be written "Here may you see the tyrant."
Act 5 Scene 8.
This is one of those multiple guess things that the correct answer is in the mind of the asker. You could argue all of them to be true. He does blame Lady MacBeth who went mad bearing that blame.
He (hypocritically) befriends Duncan even offering him protection and hospitality, only to betray both and this betrayal is certainly one of the worst possible crimes.
He murders the king.
And he does refuse to listen to the witches which are practically his only true friends throughout the play. They say what he needs to hear.
I see why this question is so hard. There is no answer that is easily eliminated.
His most villainous act is the betrayal of his lord and master, a king that ruled over him. I see subtle implications in B which likely is not what your teacher would choose.
C is probably what you are looking for, although I'm not sure anyone in the play has full knowledge of what he has done. Most would believe the concocted version that the guards were responsible.
Be prepared to get this marked wrong, but I would argue it politely and firmly, because all the choices are possible.
SURVIVAL- Man vs. Nature.
a theme is basically the main thought or what you got out of the text
Answer:
C). Georgia O'Keeffe was a great artist, and she was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1962.
Explanation:
An opinion is characterized as 'a subjective belief, judgment, or perspective that an individual has formed about a specific topic, issue, person, or thing' while a fact is described as 'an objective consensus on a fundamental reality that has been agreed upon by a substantial number of experts.' An opinion may or may not be true and requires sufficient evidence or facts to establish it while a fact is an ultimate reality.
As per the question, the third statement correctly displays an opinion that is backed by a fact. It shows the common belief of people that Keefe had been a wonderful artist which is supported by the factual evidence of 'her induction into Arts and Letters Academy in the year 1962' which validates the truth of the opinion. Thus, option C is the correct answer.
