1.Why did slavery begin in the colonies? Explain some of the alternatives to using slave labor.

Answer to Questions.
Q1. People in the colonies were considered as inferior by their colonisers. There is no alternative​ to slave labour than paid labour. Forced labour is much like slave labour.
Q2. Slaves extracted resources for their masters (colonisers) and their colonisers used these resources​ to make goods and weaponry, which the colonisers used to wage wars and expand their empire.
Q3. European colonisers thought that Native Americans were inferior, and stole their land, creating genocides, thus reducing their population dramatically.
Q4. Loss of their land had the greatest effect, because their lands were rich lands full of buffalo, which they live on. When the colonisers came, they relocated the Native Americans to other land, which has poor soil quality, and has no buffalo.
