The Marshall Plan is also known as ERP(European Recovery Plan). it was introduced by the united states for rebuilding the economies of European countries after world war one. The motive behind the Marshall Plan was to stop the spread of Communism in Europe. The Plan got its name from the secretary of state George Marshall. It lasted for four years during which aid of more than $12 billion along with technical help was offered to European Nations. The plan was successful as it managed to bring the economic production above the pre-war levels.
