WITCHER [35]

Excerpt: (10) Her poetry is wonderful to read. (11) Concrete imagery was used by her to illustrate abstract concepts, such as love and death. (12) Her unusual use of capitalization and punctuation and her use of irregular meter and rhyme make her poetry unique.

Answer: A. She used concrete imagery to illustrate abstract concepts, such as love and death.

Explanation:

This is an excerpt from Carole Jenkins by Emily Dickinson.

This excerpt has three sentences and we can see that in each one sentence the first word is considering the subject that is representing the rest of the sentence. The sentence 11 is written in passive so it doesn't fit in the excerpt because the rest of it isn't written like that.

If we rewrite this sentence 11 in order to first write the subject and then explain what the subject is doing then we are getting the understandable excerpt that is easy for reading.
