The North Atlantic Current is an extension of the Gulf Stream. It is a warm ocean current that runs through the North Atlantic, in a roughly southwest-northeast direction. This current has huge effect on the climate of Europe, especially its western and northern parts. This can be seen very easily by the fact that Europe is at the same latitude with Canada but its climate is much warmer overall. If this current stops, then the climate in Europe will experience dramatic changes. The climate will become much colder across the continent. The coastlines will be freezing during the winter months. The precipitation levels will drop significantly. All in all, Europe will have a climate that is much closer to the taiga and tundra, than to the temperate and Mediterranean climates it currently has.
