<span>In his writing "The men we carry in our minds", Sanders explains that he always had a picture in his mind that men had to work very hard everyday, while women just stayed home. Sanders experienced all this because of the year he was born. </span>Sanders didn't understand that when he was a child and so Sanders wanted to grow up living a life as a girl because he thought it was much easier.
<span>Eventually Sanders met women in college who had a different picture of men in their mind. He noticed and actually realized that not all men had to work so hard as he thought. He saw that women do have a hard job just as men do. They have to work as hard to keep a house clean and take care of children. They have responsibilities just as men do.
