Structural functionalism is a social framework for building theory that sees society as a system in which all of its parts work together to promote solidarity and stability.

In regards to Suburbanization, which is the shift of populations from the urban areas to the rural areas, this is positively seen by Structural functionalists, as they would see as a more uniform way of organization of population growth, as there is a better distribution of people, who consume goods and require services that have to be attended and subsequently produce overall wealth in these areas.
