Assume that the Moon is hit by about 25 million micrometeorite impacts each day (this number comes from observations of meteors
mestny [16]

Answer:

3.03 Billion Days or 8.30 Million years

Explanation:

Given,

No. of micrometeorite impacts per day on the Lunar surface = 25000000

Impacts needed to erase a footprint = 20

Area of footprint = 300 cm²

We know that surface area of the Moon = 37.93 Million Km² = 37.93\times 10^{16} cm^{2}

To find:  How long will it take to erase one footprint?

Using the above information,

No. of impacts per cm² per day is

= \frac{25000000}{37.93\times 10^{16}}

No. of impacts on area of a foot print (300 cm²) per day will be,

= \frac{25000000}{37.93\times 10^{16}}\times 300

= 6.59\times 10^{-9}

To erase the footprint there must be 20 impacts on the area of footprint.

Time taken for 6.59\times 10^{-9} impacts = 1 Day

Time taken for 1 impact is

= \frac{1}{6.59\times 10^{-9}} days

Hence, time taken for 20 impacts will be

= \frac{1\times20}{6.59\times 10^{-9}} days

= 3.03 \times 10^{9} days

= \frac{3.03 \times 10^{9}}{365}years

= 8.30 \times 10^{6} years

It would take around 3.03 Billion Days or 8.30 Million years for one of the footprints left by the Apollo astronauts to be erased.

the air circulates counterclockwise in diagram B because the water cools slower than the land true or false?
sattari [20]

It is true that the air circulates counterclockwise in diagram B because the water cools slower than the land.

<u>Explanation:</u>

The air flows in an anti clockwise direction in that diagram because water takes more time to cool down comparatively slower than the land because a lot of heat is required to heat the water and therefore water has a lot of heat stored in water causing the water to heat slower than the land even if they let the energy out at the same time still water takes more time.

Observations of the solar system support the nebular theory because _____. the planets and sun rotate in different directions co
frozen [14]
The nebular theory is the justification for the creation of solar systems. What the theory explains are three facts – first fact is that all the terrestrial planets, which are those within the orbit of the Asteroid Belt, are rocky, while those outside it are gaseous. Second fact is that they all orbit within 6 degrees of a common plane. And lastly, is that the planets all rotate in the same direction. The last fact is the reason why the nebular theory is supported. Therefore, the correct answer is all the planets orbit the sun in the same direction. (and roughly on the same plane.)

I think that the beginning of the question says "ill health"

Yes, this is true. low earnings are often correlated with bad health - it's because poor people have less access to health care, less access to healthy food and might be forced to do jobs which are stressful and demanding.

Describe what lines of latitude measure and what do lines of longitude measure?
nadezda [96]

Answer:

Lines of latitude measure north-south position between the poles. Lines of latitude are all parallel to each other, thus they are often referred to as parallels.

Lines of longitude, or meridians, run between the North and South Poles. They measure east-west position. The prime meridian is assigned the value of 0 degrees, and runs through Greenwich, England. Meridians to the west of the prime meridian are measured in degrees west and likewise those to the east of the prime meridian are measured to by their number of degrees east.
