The most significant issue with regard to the Temple Mount/Dome of the Rock is that any controversy with the site tends to negat

ively impact international relations in the area. In 2010, Arab scholars released a study declaring that the Western Wall was not part of the holy Jewish temple at all, but part of the al-Aqsa Mosque. The US State Department called the study "factually incorrect, insensitive, and highly provocative." Why might controversy over this site cause problems internationally? The city of Jerusalem is under American protection. Other countries want the opportunity to take control of Jerusalem. People around the world care about places of religious importance. Other countries are not sensitive to the religious importance of the site.

This two-party system is based on laws, party rules and custom, not specifically outlined in the US Constitution. Various small minor parties come and go and occasionally win minor offices at the state and local level. Local offices are often nonpartisan.
