Engineers must consider the breadths of male heads when designing motorcycle helmets. men have head breadths that are normally d

istributed with a mean of 6.0 in and a standard deviation of 1.0 in. (based on anthropometric survey data from gordon, churchill, et al.). if one male is randomly selected, find the probability that his head breadth is less than 6.2 in. use 4 decimals for your answer.

The probability is 0.5793.

We calculate this using a z-score.  Z-scores are found by subtracting our data point from the mean, then dividing by the standard deviation:

z = (6.2-6)/(1.0) = 0.2

We then look up the score in a table (http://www.z-table.com).

P(X<6.2) = P(z<0.2) = 0.5793 from the table.

Option 2: 2x + 2 = 72

Step-by-step explanation:

First odd: x

Next odd: x + 2

x + (x + 2) = 72

2x + 2 = 72

Because the difference between two consecutive odd numbers is 2.

What is the value of the expression “three less than the quotient of ten and a number, increased by six” when n = 2?
zloy xaker [14]
So the equation would be 10/N+3-6.
10/2=5 5+3=8 8-6=2. so if you plug in 2, it would make an answer of 2.

Pythagorean Theorem in Cones. I need a lot of help.
Nadya [2.5K]
The Pythagorean Theorem formula is listed below. It can only be applied to right triangles.

(side1)^2 + (side2)^2 = (hypotenuse)^2

Since we are given that the base is 8cm, we know that the side of one triangle is 4cm. We are also given that the hypotenuse is 8cm. The height of the cone will be one of the short sides. If we plug these numbers into the formula, we get the following...

4^2 + height^2 = 8^2

If we solve for height, we get the following...

height = sqrt(8^2 - 4^2) = sqrt(64 - 16) = sqrt(48)

Since we are only asked for what is inside the square root, our answer is 48.
