The following events that occurred after the raven flew into the speakers room are arranged in the correct order:

  • The speaker watches as the raven flies in and perches on the bust of Pallas.  (Lines 37-42)

<em>Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,</em>

<em>In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore;</em>

<em>Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;</em>

<em>But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door– </em>

<em>Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door – </em>

<em>Perched, and sat, and nothing more.</em>

  • The speaker is amused by the royal appearance of the bird and asks the bird its name. (Lines 45-48)

<em>"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven,</em>

<em>Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore –  </em>

<em>Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!"</em>

<em>Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."</em>

  • The speaker imagines that angels have arrived and spread perfume in the room.  (Lines 79-81)

<em>"Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer</em>

<em>Swung by Seraphim whose foot-falls tinkled on the tufted floor.</em>

<em>"Wretch," I cried, "thy God hath lent thee – by these angels he hath sent thee"</em>

  • The speaker asks the raven if he’ll ever get over the misery of losing his love Lenore.  (Lines 82-84)

<em>Respite – respite and nepenthe, from thy memories of Lenore;</em>

<em>Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!"</em>

<em>Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."</em>

  • The speaker wants to know if he’ll ever meet Lenore in Heaven. (Lines 93-95)

<em>"Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,</em>

<em>It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore –  </em>

<em>Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore."</em>

  • The speaker gets angry at the raven and shouts at it to fly away.  (Lines 97-99)

<em>"Be that word our sign in parting, bird or fiend!" I shrieked, upstarting –  </em>

<em>"Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore!</em>

  • The speaker feels like his soul is trapped in the raven’s shadow.  (Lines 106-108)

<em>"And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;</em>

<em>And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor</em>

<em>Shall be lifted – nevermore!"</em>

What are your thaoughts on fossil fuels and what they do?(for an essay)
ira [324]

Burning fossil fuels creates air pollutants that are harmful to the environment and to public health. Coal, oil, and gas being burned results in carbon pollution, which causes climate change. I personally think fossil fuels need to be banned because they will destroy earth over time. But fortunately fossil fuels are a non renewable resource meaning we will eventually run out and have to use alternative energy resources. just hopefully that is before earth and our bodies are too completely damaged.
