What does grass likely symbolize in these lines from the poem? A child said What is the grass? fetching it to me with full hands

; How could I answer the child? I do not know what it is any more than he. I guess it must be the flag of my disposition, out of hopeful green stuff woven. (from "A child said, What is the grass" by Walt Whitman)

I think this poem illustrates that process of meaning making as an individual action of inquiry that is also open to the reader. The poem begins so directly with that question coming from the child. Whitman tells us, I don’t know what it is any more than he does, but then proceeds to spend the rest of the poem telling us what it is. So having announced his position of ignorance, he is now open to the generation of possibilities. And that ‘I guess,' ‘I guess,' ‘or,' ‘or,' provides a wonderful way of allowing one figure to be posited and another one to enter without canceling out the preceding one, allowing more layers and more possibilities, something that Elizabeth Bishop does interestingly too.

What setback or setbacks have experienenced in your life how have you overcome your setbacks
Irina18 [472]

Answer:

Explanation:

How I've Learned To Overcome Setbacks In My Life And Career ... I didn't learn from it–and the many people I know that have done the same. ... One example of a setback would be if you had a project slated to start on

1. Setbacks are usually relatively minor–“hiccups,” really, in that they don't actually stop you. They're more like speed bumps–they simply slow you down. Think of them as a problem that makes your progress harder or success less likely. Roadblocks are obstacles that do a little bit more than just slow you down.

Would the landing of the first humans on mars be a mundane event. Explain
Natalka [10]

Answer:

In my opinion no. While we have already reached the moon, mars is a whole other frontier and would be a very large step forward for humans and our scientific prowess. It would most likeley be celebrated, highly televised and covered by media for years.
