kakasveta [241]

Important things to note when <em>writing</em> an informal letter.

Structure your <em>informal letter</em> like this:

  • Writer's address (also add the receiver's address if he is out of the country)
  • The Salutation. ( Dear Friend, etc)
  • Body of the letter: Here, you write the major reason why you are writing the letter. In this case, you are writing to him/her about the book which you like the most. With this in mind, you'll have to tell them why you like the book, why oyu would recommend  it, what you have learnt from it, and many more.
  • The Conclusion: Here, you conclude your letter by asking some questions about how he or she is doing and ask him or her to write you back.
  • Sign out with your name. (Your friend, James)

Read the claim. Golf is not a real sport. Read the counterclaim. Golf is a sport because it requires strength and coordination.
Vikentia [17]

The correct answer is number 4 "<em>it is ineffective because it does not point out a flaw in the counterclaim"</em>.  The writer appeals to a negative opinion from a third party (US supreme court) to go against a  factual argument. Strength and coordination are skills common to sports which could then define golf as one.

A better option for a counterclaim would address strength and coordination as non-essential for an activity to be considered a sport as is the case for the high striker game and chess, respectively.

What are literary elements, such as diction and imagery?
Nutka1998 [239]
Diction: Diction is a literary device that’s the choice of words or style used by the writer in order to convey their message.

Basically, that’s a fancy way of saying that diction is the way in which the author wants to write to a specific audience.

Imagery: Imagery is when you use visually descriptive or figurative language in your writing. Think of it more like showing versus telling in writing where you use more sensory language versus blunt, plain words.
