Mr. Radley comes out and starts firing with his shotgun. The kids were able to escape under the fence by the schoolyard. Jem's pants get caught on the fence, and he has to kick them off in order to free himself. The next day. Chapter 7, Jem goes back to get his pants and he sees his pants hung neatly over the fence. Another presents appear in the knothole and this time they were carved soaps that resembled Scout and Jem.
