Explain, in your own words, your thoughts about the possible meaning or meanings behind the story of Pandora.
skad [1K]
The story of Pandora, like many stories in the religious/mythological genre, is a cautionary tale about the danger of man's curiosity. Pandora opened the jar (Pandora's box) out of curiosity, despite being warned by the gods against opening it, and all the evil of the world was released. This story is very similar to that of Adam and Eve. Both Eve and Pandora are the first women on earth, and they both, out of curiosity, open the realm of evil to mankind.

________ beliefs and values are passed from parents to children and reinforced by social institutions–schools, churches, busines
vivado [14]

The answer is Core.

Core beliefs are assumptions about ourselves, others, and the world. They are beliefs that are learned from our environment. We all have core beliefs and everyone's is different as they represent how and where have been raised and who or what we have been exposed to. Core beliefs are instilled in us and are very hard to change. They are assumptions we make about life and determine how we act as well as how happy or depressed we are.

In 1668, Francesco Redi proposed a different hypothesis to explain the specific example of maggots that appeared on spoiled food
anygoal [31]

The following is an explanation of how Redi disproved the idea of spontaneous generation:

 • Redi kept the food in two different jars and covered one of them, while kept the other open.
 • The jar that was open attracted flies and soon exhibited the development of maggots.
 • On the other hand, the jar that was covered did not attract any flies and there was no formation of maggots on the food in the covered jar.
 • Hence, Redi proposed that spontaneous generation of maggots is not true as the cells for the generation of maggots were carried by flies and introduced to the food.
