If the college athletes did not have classes it would be okay to be paid. The athletes are getting recruited at college level so it would make sense to have some kind of reward or benefit that one school is offering more than another. Meanwhile pro league is paying their athletes to play for them because it is their job to play for these teams. College is also temporary for up to 4 years while you can play in pro league for how ever long you would like.
