The location o the Ottoman Empire had an impact on the

History

The Ottoman Empire dominated trade routes between Europe/the Mediterranean and Asia. It had a virtual monopoly over these trade routes from the early 1400s through the early 1500s. However, by 1500 European ships had become ocean-worthy and sailors (beginning with da Gama) found the sea route to Asia around the southern cape of Africa. Though the land route to Asia through Ottoman territory was shorter and more direct, the ocean route around Africa could be faster and was not vulnerable to blockade by the Turks. The Ottoman Empire gradually lost some of its wealth due to the shifting trade, but it remained the singlest greatest power in Eastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean until the late 1600s.

So, the most important impact of the Ottoman Empire on global trade was that its power in the 1400s and 1500s forced European nations to invest in ocean-going navigation and exploration in order to sail to Asia rather than go through Ottoman land routes.

How did the government help the railroads connect the west coast with the rest of the country?
Fofino [41]

The Government helped to build the Transcontinental Railroad by passing legislation to finance it. The Pacific Railway Act authorized the construction of the railroad across the country.

The government gave land grants to the railroad companies so they could build the tracks and also sell them to finance the construction. Public lands were divided into one-mile-square sections. Between 1850 and 1870 7% of the land in the US was given to 80 railroads companies.

What amendment would you add to the constitution.
eimsori [14]

Answer:

I don't know if I would add, but I would change the 7th ammendment.

Explanation:

The 7th one is that you can't go to court for anything over 20 dollars, it has stayed the same since the 1700s. That isn't counting inflation, and no one goes to court over 20 dollars. Inflation should just be accounted for, and it should be $2,000

How did Peter The Great westernize the politic institutions
hjlf

Peter I of Russia came up with the idea of sending delegations of young Russians to Western countries so that they could learn as much as possible in fields ranging from modern production methods to military organization. Peter was so enthusiastic about this plan that he joined on of these delegations himself and took an opportunity to learn about shipbuilding from the Dutch and, when it came down to work hard, using his hands, he requested not to be given a special treatment (he was over six feet tall and so strong that he could handle any kind of job). As these young Russians came back to Russia, they served as cadres training Russian manufacturers, artisans, etc. to use modern Western techniques in order to increase their productivity and the quality of their finished products.

Other reforms carried out by Peter had a more aesthetic goal: he ordered all men to shave off their beards, so that they did not look so old-fashioned and even wild (Russian men objected this on religious grounds, alleging a command n the Holy Scripture for men to keep their beards ) and change their medieval-looking clothes for modern Western clothes. Peter's reasoning was that people would change their mindset if they carried out changes in their lifestyle, and even though he managed to get Russia involved in European affairs, he failed to convince the majority of the population to adopt all the changes he demanded.
