The Reformation was a movement targeted to modifying specific practices done by the Catholic church, among them, the "mediation" from the clergy, and the ordinary people, who mostly were illiterate at the time. When Gutenberg began the publication of free ideas, he set the principles for the press, and literacy levels increased tremendously. People started to question and think critically about their beliefs. The ideas of the Reformation were different, and appealing to common people. The notion was transformed, where each individual was  "one with God." The distribution of Protestant ideas through books was predominant on Northern Europe were Reformation had its greatest impact.
