Answer:

a.150

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that a cell phone provider offers a plan that cots $30 per month plus $0.20 per text message sent or received.

A comparable plan costs $60 per month but offers unlimited text messaging.

a.If number of text messages sent or received  =150

For I plan

Cost of one text message sent or received per month=$0.20

Cost of plan per month=$30

Costs of 150 text messages sent or received=0.20\times 150=$30

Hence, total costs of plan I =$30+$30=$60

But in II plan no charge for text message and cost of plan per month is $60

Hence, the text messages 150 would have to be sent or received in order for the plans to cost the same each month.

b.If number of text messages =50

Then the cost of messages in plan I=02.0\times 50=$10

Cost of plan I =$30

Total cost of plan I=30+10=$40

But in second plan no charge for text messaging and cost per month is $60.

Therefore, plan I is better than second plan.Because the cost of plan I is less than the cost of second plan per month.

Part a. is correct. It is 150.

Part b.
First plan: $30 + $0.20 per text
For 50 texts
$30 + 0.20 * 50 = $30 + $10 = $40
For 50 texts, the first plan costs $40

For 50 texts per month, the first plan is better because it costs only $40 instead of $60
Second plan: $60 no matter how many texts

Compute your average velocity in the following two cases: (a) You walk 64.6 m at a speed of 1.20 m/s and then run 64.6 m at a sp
Ratling [72]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

(a)distance(s_1)=64.6 m

speed=1.2 m/s

s_2=64.6 at 3.53 m/s

total time =\frac{64.6}{1.2}+\frac{64.6}{3.53}

=53.83+18.3=72.13 s

Average velocity=\frac{Displacement}{time}

V_{avg}=\frac{129.2}{72.13}=1.79 m/s

(b)total distance=60\times 1.2+106.8\times 3.53=72+377.004=449 m

Average velocity=\frac{Displacement}{time}

v_{avg}=\frac{449}{166.8}=2.69 m/s

Mr. Carlevato and Mr. Burrows get into a debate about two different expressions. · Mr. Carlevato says "2(2x + 3) is equal to 4x
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

Yes, the same answer is obtained.

Step-by-step explanation:

According to Mr. Carlevato, 2(2x+3) is equal to 4x+6. However, 2(2x+3) is not equal to 4x+6 according to Mr. Burrows.

Put x=5 in 2(2x+3)

2[2(5)+3]=2(10+3)=2(13)=26

Put x=5 in 4x+6

4x+6=4(5)+6=20+6=26

Therefore,

2(2x+3)=4x+6

Yes, the same answer is obtained.

Like terms are terms that have the same variable no matter the coefficient value such as a negative or positive coefficient (number right to left of the variable aka the letter representing an unknown amount of value).

A. 8n : - 4n becuase the have the same variable (N)

B. - 2d: D because they have the same variable and even if d has no coefficient, it still has value, variables with no coefficient always equal 1 no matter the circumstances

C. - b: 17b and -3b2 because they both have the same variable eliminating the coefficients being two different types of numbers (positive and negative). The expressions have to have the same variable.

D: 4y², -3y2,4y, and 4 to the second power. This is because they all have the same variable.

E. 6x2y: 3xy because the variable are specifially xy and they must be in order to be like terms.

abc: all because they have all the letters but are just in different orders of variables. (thats all)
