In "To Build a Fire"      the use of third-person omniscient changes the way the reader. The narrator can know all the thoughts and actions.      This means the reader easily know what the character is thinking. You can experience what the character is thinking thought his eyes. This builds sympathy for the character. For example, when the man in "To Build a Fire" was trying to survive you felt sympathy for him.
