The Navigation Acts supported the system of mercantilism because it was a series of laws which restricted the use of foreign ships for trade between Britain and it's colonies. This helped mercantilism because it kept all the benefits from Britain and prohibited gold and silver from being lost out of the empire of Great Britain.
