An example is the Costa Rican system, children enter at the age of 4 and a half years old at a level called "maternal", then at the age of 5 they enter kindergarten also called "kinder", then at the age of 6 they enter to "preparatoria" although those levels are needed they aren't required. At the age of 7 they enter primary school where they spend six years. After finishing primary school they enter high school where they spend 5 to 6 more years depending if it is a technical high school or academic high school.
