The quality of life in the Roman Empire depended upon where one fell within society.

During the Pax Romana, the wealthy built huge, lavishly decorated houses and usually had servants or slaves to tend to their every need. The average citizen worked hard and lived reasonably comfortably in modest housing. Despite the riches of the Roman Empire, the largest class lived in what can only be described as poverty.

Children in Rome
Roman children wore pendants called bullas, from the Latin word for "bubble," around their necks. The wealthy wore bullas made of gold, while a typical plebeian bulla was leather.
Roman family life was a patriarchy — that is, the oldest male wielded considerable power over the rest of the family. The patriarch made all of the major decisions for the family.

The small states of Phoenicia and Israel developed due to the decline of the______
Natasha_Volkova [10]

Answer:

The small states of Phenicia and Israel developed due to the decline of the Persian Empire and the Turkish-Ottoman Empire.

Explanation:

Phenicia was a group of city-states located in what is now Lebanon. They had commercial relations with many peoples, mainly the Hebrews and the Persians. However, even in the face of trade relations, the Persian empire oppressed the realization of the state of Phenicia with the violent Persian expansion, and Phenicia could only stabilize with the fall of the Persian Empire.

The state of Israel, on the other hand, took years to be declared and this was only possible after the fall of the Turkish-Ottoman empire, after the Second World War. Britain has seized the lands of the Turkish-Ottoman empire by handing them over to Israel through political agreements.

sweet [91]

The correct answer is A) so that no single branch of the government would gain too much power.

The concepts of checks and balances were established by the authors of the Constitution so that no single branch of the government would gain too much power.

This concept is a valuable precept because with the checks and balances can prevent wrongdoings from the other parts of the government and the exercise of power is divided equally. In the United States, the Constitution acknowledges three branches: the executive, that in the presidency of the U.S., the legislative, that is the House of Representatives and the Senate, and finally, the Judiciary, that is the Supreme Court.
